I use a Jag III and have different profiles set for different materials, just select before cutting. I also have 3 blade holders set up differently too for different materials if needed………

You should never need to adjust the ammount the blade is protruding, once it is done initially, you can alter the pressure in the software but you need to tell the plotter the to take priority from the "host" I prefer to set the pressure from the plotter panel though.

Like Peter says once the blade is set up correctly it shouldn’t be touched at all regardless of what material you are cutting. I have an old graphtec machine which I can set different profiles on so I would think that you will have the same option on your machine. Can’t see why graphtec would have dispensed with it. I have one set for a pen for drawing, especially templates for lettering. One set for calendered vinyl, one for cast and one for reflective. Like Graeme I also have more than one holder and use a different blade for reflective.

I have used slightly more pressure for matt vinyl than i have for gloss as i find the matt to be slightly thicker. I am talking about Mactac vinyl.
