    Hi john
    Welcome to the boards.

What material and printer are you using, and what do you call small?
most reputable plotters have optical registration either as standard or an option Graphtec summa and mutoh at 610mm can all (almost certain)
    Be bought within your budget.

Inkjet epson 1290 this is for textiles eg tee shirt so the size is 50 x 50 mm
on XP3132 COLOUR TRANS DARK JET, AT moment but latter will be using thermal printer as well so will need to cover this type of material.
610 one sound about the right size will have alook around. thanks for your reply, is flexicut best cutter software to use?

i`ve got a summa with optical alighment. works great, no problems, can`t vouch for other brands, but any top name will be ok.

stay clear of the cheaper end, if you can afford to.

from what i have read, summa and graphtec are the best makes with this function. i run a graphtec and havent had one problem in years… great machines.

We’ve just bought a Mimaki CG75 and although we have not had a lot of experience yet it seems to work well. A good, robust, workmanlike bit of kit.

I don’t know whether it would be within your budget (we bought it as part of a package) but I would advise you to spend a little extra and go with a reputable make, that you will be able to get some meaningful service on.

If your business depends on one cutter them you MUST be able to get it repaired quickly. A few quid saved on purchase price pales into insignificance when you have deadlines to meet.

Hi John – I too like Robert can say that Graphtec is worth a good Look. I purchased a CE3000 MK2 – Price was £995 + Vermin added Tax. It has an Optical Eye for Reg Marks & runs very well (Nice and Quite Too).
Plot Width is just over 600mm.

They also chucked in the stand that normally costs £250

I have 3 Cutters & this one is now the cutter of choice for all jobs under 600mm

Hope this is helpful to you !
