• Cutter Maintenance?

    Hi guys

Our cutter, a Graphtec CE5000-60 hasn’t worked that hard but always cut everything we’ve sent to it without any real problems at all.

I keep it clean with the occasional ‘wipe over’ but is there any other maintenance I should be carrying out – I feel I owe it some TLC 🙂

i would check and clean all the usual bits cutting strip grit rollers etc.
i then remove the covers where possible and get some tins of dry compressed air and gently clean circuit boards and fans of dust and debris.
you will be surprised how much collects inside.
clean your knife holder drop of wd 40
also a good tip given to me was to give the cutter say half a metre of small figure eights to cut. with no blade in.it exercises the head.
i had a problem with our cadet. it would catch the blade on the media clamps until i started doing this never happened again.

    derek
