  • Cut to size substrates??

Posted by Roger Clements on July 21, 2009 at 10:02 pm

Hello one and all…..I will be searching for a supplier for cut to size foamalux (I understand this is the best, at 3mm, for H&S signage) tomorrow using the UKSB toolbar as recommended. However I would appreciate it if anyone can recommend a supplier for smaller quantities. I’m looking at around 50 210x300mm initially but then it might/could be smaller quantities.

A supplier in the South West would be preferable I presume as I am in ‘Darkest Wiltshire’

    Thanks in advance…

It doesn’t really matter where you or your supplier are based, most cut to size and deliver nation wide.
to get the best prices though, you will probably need to open an account, and do some negotiating.

    Thanks Peter..you’re a font of knowledge….. :thumbup2:
Any particular company you would recommend based on your experience? Also am I right in thinking 3mm foamalux is the correct substrate?

The best substrate depends on how you intend to make, and at what size, and the intended use
H&S usually are 1mm hips plastic. but can be self adhesive also

Hi Peter….I’ve got a sample of what’s required. Just measured it and it’s 5mm thick for both indoor and outdoor use. Signage graphic will simply be cut vinyl…. 5-7 yr for durability. Fitting will simply be by drilling holes in the substrate and either screwing or using wire/plastic tiewraps done by the customer.
