Custom Acrylic Colour Made to Order
Posted by Peter Mansion on February 12, 2019 at 5:52 pmDoes anyone know a supplier of custom Acrylic Colours / Perspex that will supply a single sheet of Acrylic made to a specified RAL code?
Many thanks.

Surely it could be painted for a hell of a lot cheaper than anybody could produce a colour for?

Does it need to be acrylic? As already suggested painting would be cheaper or you could flood coat with a vinyl if you can find a close match to the RAL colour. Another possibility is to make a fibreglass panels on a sheet of glass with a gel coat to match the RAL colour required

Thanks. It’s actually got to be translucent so painting wont work!

What is it you are trying to achieve? You can create any colour by using opal acrylic backlit with programmable LEDs

Even companies such as Perspex will custom manufacture a shade / tint. You will likely have to buy around 1000kg worth of it…pre pay…and accept that if it’s not exactly what you were after that’s too bad and wait several months for delivery. Not normally a viable process.
(From talking to an acrylics importer)

Actually, they will do you a sample in the lab before committing.
For 3mm you have to buy 19 full 3x2m sheets.I did this about a month before Christmas from Perspex, delivery was about 7 weeks from ordering if I remember correctly.

I should have elaborated on the colour confirmation – you do get to see it beforehand as a sample! It SHOULD be exactly the same when made up (A little over 400Kg by my calculations on your quantities) Dave
