  • Could someone help me with this JCB problem…

Hello all – long time no speak (baby required some getting used to!)

I am currently designing a logo for a customer to be applied to vans, jcb diggers etc. They really want a photo of a jcb digger to be used and being new to the confusing world of digi print, I am having a headache getting it right. The problem is probably very easily sorted – every royalty free image that I find that I could use is a jpeg image and pixelates when blown up to a larger size… I know that this is probably a very simple thing but then so am I (very simple, that is)

If anyone could explain all this confusing stuff – I would be very very grateful….

    Hi Nelijane,
Try this link for quite decent JCB photo’s, they aren’t high res but they should enlarge quite big before pixilating.
    Best of luck

Nelijane get your digicam out and take some yourself is the easiest way to do it.

Welcome back NeliJane 😀 Blimey its been a while, hows the diddy one? Are you coming to SignUK again this year?

As Steve says, possibly the best solution is to grab a piccy of one of their JCBs with a digicam. I noticed a couple across the road from my shop today (there’s a plot of land having some building work done on it) so if I get chance I’ll try and get some snaps in the morning.

Other than that, there was a cool post a couple of days ago by a gent up in Scotland who suggested a piece of software that would help to enlarge pictures with minimum pixelation. I’ll have a scout about for you 😀

Great to see you back though 😀

    Cheers, Dewi

Nelijane, speak to customer services at JCB, i hear that they’re pretty good at supplying images( after all its advertising for them!)

You’ll probably need to get put through to the press dept, thinking about it!

Anyway, The software that Dewi mentioned maybe called S-spline or X-spline ( do a Google) this is a software that is VERY clever,it uses some very complex calculations to add pixels. a friend of mine mentioned it to me ages ago, can’t ask him anything aboutit because he’s away at the moment Doh!”!

thanks guys, I will do ALL of your mentioned ideas today! Definitely up for taking pics myself, do I have to change the resolution on my camera? but phoning JCB or visiting the site with the pics on it sounds like the easy way out (hurrah!) Hopefully I’ll be getting alot more work like this so I need to find the best way of doing this.

Dewi – diddy one (ruby) is fine. Nine and a half months old now, can you believe it, and taking her first steps. Planning a visit to Sign Uk so may bring her along – she was actually there last year but was hitching a ride in my enormous tummy! HOw’s your biz going? I’m just about getting back to the real world of work again and planning a massive expansion of the 1st Signs empire into the world of mobile sign fitting (this is basically me, my plotter, a lap top and a gigantic sprinter van)

Off to find perfect JCB pix – nelijane

Can’t help with the graphics but just wanted to say welcome back 😀 I can’t believe Ruby is 9 months old it didn’t seem that long ago that you posted her arrival into the big wide world pic … but on saying that Ethan just had his first birhtday on Saturday … time is flying by!!!!

We could take our two munchies to the show but I have a feeling we would end up with a massive bill at the end of it …. due to the destruction they can cause between them in under five minutes …. they would probably wreck the place 😮 :lol1:

    😀

Hi Carrie, Yep ruby is nine months and not so diddy – she’s pretty enormous and eats like a cart horse. I think that destruction would definitely be on the cards at the show with the diddies on tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone! nelijane
