Corner Rounding Tools?!?
Posted by BenRead on October 19, 2010 at 6:27 pmEvening all,
I have a job that has come in where the customer specifically requires rounded corners, the job is big enough that is makes sense for us to buy a corner rounder.
What do you guys recommend?
I will be cutting lots of 10mm foamboard and dibond.
Thanks Ben

went to the nec interbuild show today. one thing that caught my eye was the exact saw. the smaller one will probably help with doing corners ad you can swerve the saw for curves but also has the capability to use various diffrnt discs for plastic to diabond and other composite boards : heres the site :

(probably cheaper on ebay but just for info check the url above)the ps150 will do curves.

Not sure if I’m allowed to put the link so the item number is 260522037242 Flea-bay about £50 and cuts up to 10mm I think that you can also change the size of the corner with different type blades although not sure about that

Try the toolbar Ben as I am pretty sure there will be a number of suppliers, I know jag do them for starters.

I use one of the JAG ones all the time for 10mm and 5mm Foamex or similar. I have used it on dibond type material but I’m not sure how the blade would cope with repeated use.

Think you probably made the right choice Ben, had a look at the one Ray posted a number for and it looked to me like a paper cutting machine which I doubt wouldl be up to the job and I wouldn’t expect it to last to long if used on a regular basis.
