  • Corner Rounder / Hole Punch, advice needed on right purchase please?

I am on the hunt for a corner rounder, I have seen the ones at Signgeer, the Corner Pro 4 (Which has the added benefit of also clagging holes in stuff – something else I am looking for) but comes with a hefty cost once the dies are factored in. Its all for small signs upto A3 in Size, quite a bit will be A5 etc.

They will both be used for .8mm aluminium, foamex upto 5mm.

There appears to be no information, examples, or even a single review on these units! Whats the finish like, is it accurate, easy, and not much hard work? Is it even adjustable if the dies are slightly out?

Sorry for all the questions, but this seemed like the best place to ask! We have just invested in a Roland LEF-20, and now need to feed it with products of our own!

I have a couple of different corner rounders, one i think was from SignGeer.
Corner rounders aren’t cheap at a glance, but when you consider how much cutting and how durable they must be long term, they really aren’t that expensive. There are a few budget ones out there that i have seen and tried at exhibitions which i thought looked good, but were flimsy and not even worth considering when you tried them.

The rounders are as accurate as the person using them.
the die cuts at a fixed radius. If the user does not push the rounder firmly into the right angle guide, then the cut is not going to be accurate. Other than that, it will keep cutting till blunt. We have two different size mechanisms with a couple of different cutting die sizes in each. Had them about 5+ years now.

Buy the best you can afford. Buy with a couple of cutting dies at least.
They are not a tool we use every day, theres weeks they are constantly used, while other times they lay idle for weeks on end. just depends on the type of signs we are putting out.

Give SignGeer a call and ask for a bit of advice.
Send them some 4inch square samples of the boards you will typically cut, along with a return jiffy bag.
and ask them to send you them back cut with the dies you require and see what you think? worth a call anyway.

    Hi

There are lower cost hand held device available. they will not hole punch and does not have the power of the Signgeer products but may be suitable for a lot of jobs in the short term.

Just a bit of feedback, I rang up and requested some samples, and they arrived yesterday, along with a shiny catalogue :D. Looks like decent results and exactly what I am after, at least in the short term. I know there are lower cost options, but none have the hole punch option (that I can find anyway!)

Its mostly to be used with aluminium, so needs good blades!
