thanks, having read about the patch it is now released. I must WARN everyone now that the upgrade from X6 to X6.1 makes you sign a different UELA and forces you to comply to a membership, however this might not be a problem, it is now a requirement to "login to corel" to use Corel Draw.

In my business SOME computers are considered plotter controllers where you import the file, I license the software "per designer" so I might have to look carefully how I deploy software to computers with corel that run machines, some of which may not be online. The license states you can install it on 3 machines at the same address as long as your the main user, the license also states that if you keep re-installing it, you might need authorization. So basically YOU NEED TO BE ONLINE

EDIT: Correction, I have just Logged out and logged in as another user on my PC (domain/network) and Corel X6.1 did start up and at the bottom right it is asking me to signin. So I am now unsure if Corel is indeed "locked down" requiring internet access/administrators nightmare

It is my understanding that once you have a Corel account which entitles you to Standard membership you do not need to be online to use Draw unless you want to download additional content once this is on your machine you do not need to be online to use it.
Standard membership you get by having a legal copy and signing in for the first time, Premium gives extra content over and above Standard membership and more. FWIW at first glance I don’t think I will go for Premium Membership but will keep open an mind.
I would get the update because of the general improvements.
