• Contravision Help

Posted by Wayne Maxwell on June 20, 2018 at 6:42 pm

Have came across my 1st problem using Contravision.

So i did a window for a taxi depot. Black back ground with white text and picture of a taxi cab.

The customer is saying at night time when you drive by the window it just looks like a tinted window, he cant see the white text.

The depot is lit up on the inside with ceiling lights.

My question is do i need to block the inside of the windows with black or white vinyl to stop the light coming through ?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Tell them to get some blackout blinds mate, that’s what contravision does when the light source switches from outside to inside

Thanks Kevin. If i put black vinyl on the windows inside would that do that same job do u think ?

If you put black vinyl (or any vinyl for that matter) inside the windows, it will totally negate the whole reason for applying contravision in the first place. You may as well have just fitted a full colour print to the windows in the first place.

I have had to move (again) into a new premises which is actually a retail shop on a busy main street. I’m going to cover the shop windows in contravision but will have vertical blinds, inside, behind them. So, in the daytime, I’ll pull the blinds to one side, or just angle them so I can see through them to the outside, but as soon as it starts getting darker outside than inside, I’ll just close them.

Guys sorrry me again. Please correct me if im wrong.

The taxi depot i didthe windows for has no lights outside.. ie shining on the windows. Its only has a vending machine inside the room behind the windows. Would i be correct in saying. If they had lights shining on the windows from outside would this help the view on the contravision from outside. People passing by would see the graphics and not a dark burn through image ? Also if they kept the lights of on the inside just leaving the vending machine on i assume this would also help ?
