Going to Quote for another sign Tray job.

    The sizes are: 2000 x 700 with 50mm returns
    2700 x 950 with 50mm returns.

These will remain white with a simple logo/name we already have as a vector file. Just cut 1 colour and apply.

    Installation to a corrugated cladding.

    Prices from the supplier:
    2000×700 is 130.30 +vat
    2700 x 950 is 165.75+vat
    £35.00 Deliver + VAT.

I’ve got a rough idea of: £324.14 for the smaller one £395.64 for the larger

    £719.78 + VAT + Installation (anticipate 1/2 day approx £200)

Am I way of the mark? I’ve quoted for these before and just don’t seem to get the jobs. I know I could make the sign tray in house, but I am not confident with the router on the bench yet. need more practice.

I would quote similarly, maybe a little higher, but VAT included already, as I’m not registered. Installation is the key here, as you really want to know whether it’ll take you an hour or five. Depending how far, how high and whether you need a mobile scaffold etc…

I tend to stick to either 1/2 or full day installation times. I’ve been to see the building so I know what to expect, and a sign tray will make the installation easier.

    Thanks in advance

I tend add at least 50% to trays I buy in,

so, trays (excl vinyl as I don’t know what it is) £600 for both.
installation charged at £25ph (per man if more than just me required to install).would prob allow 4hrs for that if fairly local.

so, i’d be around the £700 mark (plus whatever the vinyl cost is).

Like you I never used to get this kind of work, i seem to get a reasonable amount now. I tihnk a lot of poeple know what they want but have no idea of the cost, too embarassed to come back they go for a cheapo foamex thing from a competitor!

i’ll often put in a flat panel price too (composite). I always say that if they want it framed then it’s as expensive as a tray anyways!

We do quite a bit of other print work for them, so I am trying to keep them happy. We don’t want to scare them off, and loose all of their work.

I doubled the cost of the sign tray, and it’s either just going to have a name/logo, in cut vinyl or reverse cut

Something as the attachment. Not heard anything back from them so will chase them up today.
