Can anybody shed some light on my problem? I haven’t printed anything with my cadet for a few weeks. Foolishly I haven’t been keeping the heads clear and now I’m getting absolutely nothing out of any of the heads.

I’ve tried head washing, cleaning, deep cleaning, maintenance cleaning, all to no avail. Does anyone know how I might be able to get some ink flowing?

    Thanks

    Robert

😕 ide call b&p and ask for tech guy, but its gonna cost you mate…
a clean only takes a few minutes… run a test print takes seconds…
not worth not bothering after that sort of outlay for a machine…

Does the cadet clean itself every 20 minutes? The JV3 does to stop the heads from blocking. Air into the heads on any solvent printer for more then say a day will need some serious cleaning/replacement.

If it comes to the crunch and you got to replace the heads , I would try having them cleaned utrasonically (most jewellers have a US cleaning machine.
The other option is to remove the dampers and take a syringe filled with acetone (pure) and try to get some flow. Another option is to soak the heads from below in cleaning solvent supplied.
This might help as a LAST resort!!!
DO NOT DO THIS PRIOR TO A TECH COMING OUT!!!!!!
another thing you can look at is the dampers (those white reservoirs that feed the heads) and make sure they are 1/2 full
The epson heads are pretty robust , I cant see that they are totally messed up.

I’m sorry to hear this Robert. I hope you get the machine fixed soon.

I have recently bought a Cadet and will be going off on a weeks holiday soon. Should I flush the heads out or will the machine be ok if left for just one week without cleaning or printing?

if it was a JV3, when you go on holiday make sure everything is clean in head area and you have a fair amount of ink in the machine.

Becky , ask the guys who supply it if you can leave it on ? doesnt it have a self cleaning cycle periodically?
Or failing that , perhaps moistening the capping station with flush would work?

    Update:

I have finally managed to get nearly all of the nozzles clear – but it has used a lot of ink. First of all I had to clean the waste ink pipes with flush and a bit of pressure.

Then I filled the capping station with flush and brought the heads back up into it. Then I just kept pulling ink through manually and powerful cleaned about 3 times. We’ll See what its like on Monday.

    Thanks for all the advice.

    Phil,
Do not leave tha machine for a week, It will cause you problems.
we did it once and had to replace several pipes.
To save doing a flush we put clamps on the drain pipes and fill the docking station with cleaner then no air gets in to dry the ink.
    Cheers
    Ian
