Help needed please!! We have been engraving 30 years but never used laser machines, I have now decided to change that and invest in a new laser machine. Can anyone help explain the difference in Laser machines from HPC (Yorkshire) they admit are Chinese imports and the UK and USA machines which possibly also originate in China but not admitted to by the distributors. We all know "you get what you pay for" but there is such a difference in costs has anyone purchased similar Pete B’

    Hi Peter.

We have a laser from HPC. I think they are made by Redsail.

As you say, you get what you payfor. We looked at other versions, but at nearly double the costs…. you have to make that choice.

We have had no problems with the machine. Chris is always on hand for help if needed.

Chinese made and other machines priced at the lower end of the market have glass co2 tubes…….all are very similar. Various manufacturers use the same parts to assemble their machines……the more you look you will see how alike they are.

The controller panel and software ( lasercut/easycut) are made by Leetro and are standard in the Chinese machines…….one of the ways prices stay low.

Universal, Epilog etc and the "high end machines" have metal tubes which require re gassing every couple of years and run their own software which allows direct output via Coreldraw etc

There are several good laser forums on the web with a mine of information.

I have a Redsail that I brought in direct from China which so far has been problem free.
