i can vouch for them i have claimed and been paid out on several occasions
lots of the bike racers have the policy’s as they don’t exclude bike racing and dangerous sports.
if i didn’t have a policy with them before my accident i would be in deep sh1t i can happily pay the policy till i am well into my 70s and still be in pocket 😛
i had heard stories about them not paying up but never from the horses mouth

    Dave
I had a look around on google for negative views and only found someone complaining who was a previous employee griping about his work situation

Back in 80 when i must have started with them we didn’t have the resources of the Internet to get any feed back

I have been paying for accident and hospital insurance through them since that time …’just in case’ and though they are well known to many self employed folks have always wondered if they were good for they’ re claims

Derek ypu have put my mind at ease thanks for that

if anyone else has any experience please share it

I’ve been with them for the last 8 tears or so…but never needed a claim. I do however know of several local businessmen that use them & have been successful in a claim.

You get pestered every year…or slightly more frequently if your rep leaves & somebody new goes round the list. Really just a detail check & to see if you want to upgrade / cover spouses. Pleasant enough & no hard sales here…

It’s always the same with insurance though – it seems like a total waste of money if you don’t need it!

I haven’t claimed my self but do know someone that has.

I also know some salesmen that worked for them.

I have dealt with them and don’t particularly like them, but then I don’t like many salesmen and insurance salesmen are the worse.

What to bear in mind with insurance companies is………. they make money lots of it……..which means most people don’t claim.

Statically insurance is useless as most folk simply don’t claim. Insurance companies that insure against injury have worked the statistics out. Most will only pay for hospitalization (as i think this lot do, but don’t quote me) but will not pay for the first 3 days 6 etc in hospital – now how many people do you know that have been hospitalized due to accident and still been in hospital after 3 days – not many ill guess.

Insurance against death due to accident you will always get great payouts for this because it doesn’t happen very often companies will quote this and that but accidents don’t even make the top ten deaths in the UK.

Save the money or spend it on healthy stuff because its all illness that puts us in hospital and kills us not accidents.

If you add up what you pay for insurance each month you would save thousands and have a good bundle more than any claim would be worth should you ever happen to need it!

    Nigel,
insurance is run like any other business, they have to make a profit in a competetive market, they sell a product, it is up to the buyer to choose the best product for them.

I would not encourage anyone to avoid insurance on the basis that they could cover their own risks with the money they would save.

Bad products are for stuff like insuring a washing machine that cost £250 for £100 a year

Good products are stuff that payout thousands for loss of a finger,

Small risk, but small premium that’s how I look at it any way.

you pays yer money and takes yer choice 😀

My point Peter was injury insurance rarely actually covers the normal injuries the average person gets – not many folk have to stay in hospital longer than 3 days due to accident – that’s a fact and that is where these companies make there money.

I have no objection to folk making money at all but when they prey on folks fear and vulnerability it makes me mad, they know you are unlikely to claim and have a host of clauses to make sure they don’t have to pay out.

They quote statistics to support their product but the reality is people are just not covered for what is likely to happen to them.

I’m not saying folk should ad void it if they want t I’m stating my opinion backed by statistics. – Why pay for product you are never or extremely unlikely to use? – would you pay £10 -£50 a month for a CNC router that you may use to make £500 one day in the future maybe 10 or twenty years from now? – a very poor return by any ones standard and still have to the spend days filling out forms in order to get it losing further revenue.

Like I say – my opinion but it is based on fact and statistics if it wasn’t injury insurance companies wouldn’t exist.
