coloured screw caps

burghandy? hmmm maybe struggling mate.

brown, cream, black, white etc i think you will get from any B&Q warehouse.
for odd sorta cream, browns and the like a good supplier and much chear is HOWDENS joinery. they have depots everywehre… try your local.
if you havent heard of them call directory enquiries and ask for howdens joinery in your area. i bet theres one :lol1: if not for caps, try screws etc brill prices… anyway…

if your stuck for a ceratin colour… do what i do.

lay all the caps face up and from about 8 inch up (any closer youll blow them away) spray the caps the colour you need. just guess the amount of caps you need and spray that amount but add about 10 more incase you scratch or loss some.

oh yeh, ashby they do actual screws and rivettes with coloured heads already fitted. great finish and easy to work with,

I will look at ashbys, i have seen companies in America that do them but i only need about 500 it wouldnt be worth shipping them over. Otherwise i’ll get spraying.

i know what you mean mate…

if you have one local, try an autobody paint shop supplier.

we have one a few doors from us, give them a pantone swatch and ask them for 1 can of matched paint for covering “plastic” that is important.

you end up with a perfect match… spraying can be a pain i know. what i do is spread them all out on a bit of old paper… peray them and leave over night… come in next morning and drop them in a bag take to job.
works a treat.

when spraying. try sit them on a table you can walk 360 degrees around. as you spray walk around them so you catch all sides.

Cheers Rob I’ve got about 3 weeks so i will keep looking, but i know i’m going to end up spraying,Ashbys look quite good for the coloured screws i’ll give them a ring on monday.

no worries mate…
the crews work great.. self tappers i think.
only problem i found with my standard star screw head was they kept threading the head…
this may be down too me having too big a head (no comments dewi 😉 )
also. not sure the colours ashby do ….

none the less its a good phone call to find ot for futire purchases… best of luck mate 😉

Try http://www.alexander-industrial.co.uk/ who are a subsidiary of moss plastics. They can colour match anything you like if you send them a sample or give them a RAL colour. They have a quite a good standard range of colours for a reasonable price but if you want specials they will start to get a bit a dear.

we buy white screw cap holders in 2 sizes from Winzer Wurth by the 1000’s and spray with Plasticote (available from most diy chains £3/4 a tin) comes in loads of colours including Burgundy takes no time at all to dry

we put 2 light coats on and it seems fine on the caps we use, Plasticote do a plastic primer which will give you a better surface for the colour top coat

Did yours not take/dry or did you scratch it off just curious, we have been using it for about 3 years with no comebacks
