Hiya Dewi , its the RIP ( Wasatch) that comes with the Roland Ec0-sol printers , the SP300 and the soljets.
Its a revision from 2.0b to 2.1 – the RIP is the heart of the printer , it tells it all sorts of stuff , like how to dither , what type of dot to put down , how to handle colours , what rendering intent and about a zillion other things . It allows complete control over the printer and can either make or break a print. I find it an exceptional RIP.

Thanks Rodney 😀 Sorry I missed this at the time 😕

I’m still learning in a big way when it comes to the printing side, but the RIP sounds like a useful tool. Is this one compatible with the PC60?

    Cheers, Dewi

Its an OEM rip , IE it’s the Wasatch Softrip (costs about 3 grand) that has been specifically developed for some of the Roland soljet printers and only works with them.
The PC 600 RIP will work with the PC60 as will signlab’s.
At the end of it all , we never used or still dont use a rip for the PC60 , there is not much need for it if you do small stuff although cmyk dithering can be improved with a RIP.
We actually mainly work with the spot colours.
The PC60 isnt suitable for large scale graphics and big raster images where the RIP is more important.
