Colour matching issues.
Posted by Ryan Fairweather on October 7, 2009 at 9:02 amI seem to be experiencing a new problem with our Roland XC 540.
Whenever we attempt to print a 40% Black ie: Grey, it is coming out Green/Blue.
We never seem to be able to print a pure Grey?Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Ryan, yep grey is the awkward one and requires good material profile.
I suspect you are running two rips now in your setup… did one come with a X-rite so u can start getting materials setup right?

It would have appeared to have been a software issue.
We reverted to an earlier state, performed a software update and the problem has been solved!
Thanks, a great help as usual. 😀

quote Daniele Cogo:When you have a only K vector image or a grayscale photo you can force the plotter to print only with the black cartridge select in VersaWorks “Preserve Primary Colors” in the Color Management Properties windows.
Here a screenshot:D.
Pint for Daniele…. got me out of a pickle today, cheers 😉

Look for an option such as ‘mono print’. Shiraz has this option and I’m sure other RIP’s do too. It uses only the K channel to produce the job instead of trying to make a grey out of 4 colours. It is then impossible for the RIP to print any colour.
