  • colour match please for mini hyper blue?

Posted by Gareth.Lewis on November 5, 2007 at 9:14 pm

    Good evening all!

The Mini (car) comes in a colour called Hyper Blue. Does anybody know of a vinyl colour that is a damn near perfect match?

I told you it was a long shot!

    Thanks in advance,

    Gareth

What? You mean there is a light hyper blue and a dark hyper blue?

It’s a medium blue, metallic so think you may have difficulty matching it.

Here is my old Hyper Blue Mini…..

Still got the plate Rob, it’s on an L200 now. Not quite as much fun to driver as the Cooper S.

Lost lots of money as I added about £4k worth of extras Nicola. Not a good idea on one of those cars.

This is the best car I have had…..

Long gone too now though 😥 😥

About 18mpg around town if you drive like a Priest. Which of course is not easy :lol1: That was the main reason it went, plus the fact insurance required limbs to be removed :lol1:

Wouldn’t mind another Mini, bit on the small side though.

Would ideally like a dozen or so cars for different occasions 😀

I know matching smooth gloss vinyls to metallic paint colours is tricky but if anyone can get me to a close(ish) starting point I suppose then I could go to the customer with some close(ish) blues and say ‘look here are the options, you decide’.

Nice cars everyone , when do I get mine? I’ve been doing this self employment lark for 3 years now and still no sign of it. Or the yacht. Or the villa in Spain. Hmm.

Staffordshire somewhere, not quite sure exactly followed the Nav 😮

My other half bought me one of those gift experience things last xmas. Just got round to booking it. Worth doing although they don’t let you in the cars for long 🙁 Also had an Aston Martin, Ferarri & porsche there too. Could have paid a bit more for a go in them too but I had scared myself enough already :lol1:

Best not forget mate, you lose it after a while if you don’t put it on a vehicle! 😮

I managed to purchase a number at a rock bottom price from the DVLC website – I’m the proud owner of "W4nkr" 😕

:lol1: :lol1: I DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD BE WORSE FOR ME, SCARED OF SCRATCHING IT OR DYING IN IT… :lol1: caps? 😕

Gareth, from memory mate the metalic blues i have seen are a navy metalic. i had it in my mactac range a while back and maybe even oracal. but for some reason i think oracal has stopped offering metalic. in the uk anyway… i think grafityp "might" do some speciality films like this, if not them then creative films might.
the problem is going to be the shade of blue, the colours i have seen are all navy metalics. brians car looks a rich vibrant metalic blue.

Brian, your right mate… i nearly lost it a few weeks back. someone mentioned plates at work and i said ill need to get mine on my car soon. they then said what you just have. i called DVLA and they said if i pay there and then i can keep it. so i did. 😳 🙄 :lol1: :lol1: i was about 3 weeks over my year without it being on the car, so automatically loss the rights to it unless you pay £25 annual fee for it being off the car.
    thankfully i still have it… 😀

    phill…. :lol1: :lol1:
