Whenever I get asked for little images by customers ,i.e. trees, scissors, cars. general stuff really, I always struggle to find a nice one. Which Clipart packages would you all suggest to use for ready to cut vector images? I’ve seen the Beeline (?) package on offer but was wondering if it was worth the price tag?

    thanks
    Stuart

The above might be expensive as an annual subscription but you save hours each week as images are always there and are so easy to find

    i only use beeline..
not every catagory i would like to see is there, but there is thousands of graphics to choose from, something can always be used even if you have to tweak it a bit.
not sure what price tag you have seen on it, but remember your a uksg member, so give brian hays a call at impact and see if he can sort you deal… he has with many other members 😉

we have a collection of 2,000,000 on 16 cds but here’s a little story.
We let the client, a painter and decorator, and his wife look at it:
they chose a cartoon character of a chap in bib and brace, holding a radio in one hand, and paper under the other arm. We tried to dissuade them from using it, but they went ahead anyway (the customer is always right)
Anyway after a few days we got a call from the wife complaining that the vinyl was lifting off from the van (the text was a fine script and had some very pointed ends.) she wanted to have the signs removed and send us the bill, and also we would be held responsible if the van was damaged in the process!. I advised her to bring the van back to us and we would sort it. Anyway when the van arrived there was a few “points that were lifting and all that was necessary would have been to trim with a scalpel. She was not having it and insisted that the signs were removed. in the end we just stripped the van and gave her her money back,
I have always maintained that they got a lot of adverse comments about the cartoon character but could not admit that there choice was wrong.
    Moral
Too many clips spoil the broth

    Pete

    1st rule.

NEVER LET THE CUSTOMER LOOK AT THE CLIPART BOOK.

Not unless you`ve got hours to spare.

    2nd rule.

If they ok the art work – NO MONEY BACK.

    Right you are Becky.
    I use VectorArt.
The first CD I bought was almost $200, but if you buy a SignGold
starter kit for $99, you can buy a VectorArt CD for $5.
They have since been amalgamated into the Mega Collection, about $200.
When you buy a SignGold kit, the Brian Briskie 1-2-3 Design CD is a free option.
It is one of my faves, and very easy and effective to use.
I also found this link, with a lot of clip-art for sale.
    http://www.beacongraphics.com/graphics.html
You can buy clip art for $1 apiece on the VectorArt site,
    http://www.vectorart.com/
I use clipart when I can, depending on what it looks like.
If done properly it can really enhance a sign.
I prefer to draw and scan my own artwork when possible.
    Love….Jill
