clipart picture needed.. can you help?
Posted by Shane Drew on September 15, 2005 at 10:47 amI know this is a long shot, but I have a client that has some artwork that was on one of those clipart disks. He wants me to redigitise it because he has lost the file.
Would anyone by chance have the same clipart on your files?

I’ve used this before. I’ve had a quick look and find it, but I’ll have another look later and see if I can dig him up! I can’t remember the company name that used this logo or that would help me find it!
…. I’ll keep looking!

Hi Shane i have one that is close but isn’t exact.

Thanks Paul, but the client wants the one on his shirts. If I can not find an original he wants me to redigitize it of the photo 😥
Appreciate you time tho

yes I think so Brian, I’m not dealing directly with the client but thru a promotions company. This bloke is a big sponsor of motor cross racing, and I do the signs for the team owner who has just signed him up as his main sponsor.
Do you know him?.

Shane, I’m sorry I can’t find it 🙁 I’ve looked 😮 through all my files currently on my hard drive and I haven’t managed to find it…… strange thing is, it was on one of four signs done for the same job for advertising on a football park and I’ve got the other three…… 😕
😥 😥 sorry!

quote Leigh:Shane I found this…I think it’s the same welder, messes with a bit…but the same
I knew someone would find this after I re drew it :banghead: 😥 😥
Thanks Leigh. I’d say it is the same for sure. A lot different from the embroidered sample I had to go off.
I appreciate you taking the time to send it 😛 Thanks again
Thanks Dave
Brian, I import the image into Corel, and use the node tool to make a rough outline of the image, and then go back and smooth it out with bezier curves or arcs.
If you are doing a logo, the secret to a quick vector is look at the image as a series of shapes (circles, squares and rectangles etc.) then you can weld them, and go back and tidy it up later. Not all vectors are like that, but you can certainly use the concept in most situations.

Regards Briansignlab 4.95 is the best at vectorizing…well i think it is 😀 your okay with what your doing brian, with you being a signwriter you can follow the shape of a letter no bother and tidy it up….and what shane says is good too for more tips 😉
