I`ve got to quote for self cling stickers. The customer only wants a few, so I`m thinking it`s a job for the edge.

Has anyone tried this material with the edge??

yes… and didnt like printing on it much at all ! Maybe I’m being a bit over concerned but it makes real nasty sticking foil noises the whole time it’s running. I broke a foil too if I remember rightly.
I guess with a bit of a fiddle with the settings it “should” be ok but it’s not something I would want to run large areas of print on.

    Help any ???

Couldn’t you print onto clear in reverse and then apply to the static cling? Just a thought.

I have done that too, the only thing you have to be careful of is to use a decent quality vinyl because it only has to shrink a tiny bit and the cling wont lay flat – kind of wrinkles up where the vinyl is.
But I have use cast vinyl for some med term self cling applications with no probs. It’s just a bit more hassel asembling them I guess.

    Hi Becky.
I have printed on cling with no problem. Turn yer heat down a notch and put masking tape on the squeeges so it doesnt drag on the cling. Should have no problems!

Gerber Static Cling material (Spandex in UK?) works great. We print and cut hundreds of static cling labels for a customer, 3, 4 and 6 spot colors.

No problem with it sticking to the squeegees. Make sure you select “static cling vinyl” in your Composer window, and the Gerber Edge will select the right heat settings.

    thanks for the in put.

I didn`t want to shoot myself in the foot by saying yes, and then come up agaist all sorts of problems.

Does anyone know how much this cling costs? I`ve got to mail a quote before Monday.

    thanks for the info.

Hi Becky, Spandex 380 clear is 1.27pm for <5m. You can get it cheaper but if your going to edge print I would stick with theirs I think.

Anyone know any static cling we can use on the Uniform cadet? presumably we’ll be backing it with cast white.
