  • Climate Change Levy

Having just received a higher than normal electricity bill at work, I looked more closely at the charges making up the bill and came across the "Climate Change Levy" which is applied to all businesses fuel bills (electricity and gas).

I was not aware of this fee before, and having just looked it up through the internet, I have discovered it is yet another Tax imposed by the British government.

What I would like to know is..in a few years time, once the whole climate change/global warming/CO2 emissions hysteria has been discredited, and we begin heading towards yet another ice age…will the government pay us this tax back seeing as it is being taken under false pretences 😮

We’ve just had the coldest start to December in more than 30 years, and last week, snow fell in Las Vegas forcing it’s airport to close.

    Global warming…my arse 😕

Totally agree Phil. Climate change and green issues have got all out of hand and now is a big business of its own.
For the whole of history the planet has warmed up and cooled down sometimes to extremes.
There is one big instigator of all this climate change THE SUN.

    quote Phill:

.will the government pay us this tax back seeing as it is being taken under false pretences

I take it that was a rhetorical question Phill.

Because there are lots of other taxes taken under false pretences, like road fund licence, national insurance and many, many more.

You’ve got less chance of a refund than surviving the next ice age.

Nothing to do with a climate change levy but I received notice that Electric costs were going up due to increase in fuel costs. This was when oil was 140 dollar a barrel. Strange now that the price is down to 50$ ish that we havent received a letter saying the prices are coming down again. Strange that????
