  • clear glue for sticking acrylic recommendations?

Posted by Martin Cole on May 21, 2009 at 7:48 am

Have a client, who would like some 6mm acrylic panels flood coated (to the back) then stuck to the wall (largest piece around 2000 x 1000) but wants no visible fixings or glue to show or to yellow after time.

    Any thoughts please?

    hI THERE,

Innova Solutions 01282867390 Linda or Spencer

I saw two sheets of clear acrylic stuck together , if it wasnt for the slight line around the middle you would have sworn it was a solid sheet, you can create plaques etc using it.

There a good bunch of people.

Hi Cameron, I saw that at the show but will that help stick the acrylic to a wall?

I think I was thinking along the same lies as Cameron……If you were to sandwich the flood coated image/colour between two sheets you could then just tensol some stand off locators to the back and they wouldn’t be seen

assuming it doesn’t have to be flat against the wall that is 😕

bordering on a mad idea Dave, but interesting concept 🙄

Thanks Cameron, it may well work on walls..just ignore George at least your idea was better than sky hooks. 😀

Customer didn’t mention what the walls are made of, all I know is they are to go in the WC’s and the largest being 800 x 750 I am now lead to believe

    Thanks.

    Page 71 of the magazine

    The v cleats.

If you want them to be permanent you can put glue on the back of the cleats when you install.

if these are in WC’s, then u dont want the acyrlic falling down and cutting ur **** off!

    anyway…

how about a 2mtr fold at the bottom of the bottom sheet with a couple of keyholes, same with the top i guess.

Now thinking about gluing a hanging strip on the back of it and couple of screws at the top to force it down, top being the wall where it is not visible.

    Thanks for the replies

Can’t get hold of guy to see what walls are made of, which seems an obvious question to ask 😳
