Hello, just had a load of mirror polished stainless steel laser cut. Where the laser has cut the letters its melted the protective film leaving like melted adhesive on the edges. Does anyone one have any good ways of cleaning this off, without putting scratch marks in the mirror finish. Worried of using something thats going to effect the finish.

    Cheers

    Hiya,

Eucalyptus Oil might work. I used to have a black and stainless kitchen, yeah baby, and it worked a treat.

Cheers for that, we’ve used baby oil to clean brushed stainless, like finger prints and stuff, but will it work getting melted adhesive off. I’ll give it a try.

Stainless steel is a very tough product and stand up to almost any solvent but not all acids the best product I have found for cleaning and keeping finger marks under control is marketed by 3m and should be available from welding supply shops its called Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish if they don’t stock that one they should have a alternative. I have tried the oil methods but find they attract more dirt long term. Hope this helps.

    Hi all

Autosol is great for polished letters, we normally get ours from ‘Halfords’.

Rob, the cleaner you used was ‘Shelia Shine’, which we find excellent for satin st/st letters

Hope this helps, please ask on here if you have any problems

    Regards
