    Hi all,

The kind of thing I’m after is the type where you can add panels when more companies move in, not really the Vista system

I have seen a bar system with bowed stainless steel panels that fit over them.
Only need it about 800mm across by 1000

Can’t for the life of me think where I have seen it, I’m sure on the boards somewhere. searched the tool bar high and low 🙄

    any help appreciated

    Hi Martin

thers a couple of products i have in mind, but like you, cannot for the life of me remember who does them.

I did think at first "signsystems" but they are on the toolbar so im guessing you have had a looks. they do NOT offer what i had in mind, but can see some nice alternatives.

the problem with directory systems is the whole adding-removing.
we did a directory system for a high end customer in glasgow. simple enough,
set amount of floors, departments etc.
but over a period of something like 16month they out grown it and adding to it was difficult and also made things look poor, design wise. anyway, something to keep in mind when buying an off the shelf type system.

i think a safe bet can be locators, glass sections, etch and cut vinyl.
not because i think its the best or most creative, but more because adding to it means you get a local glazzeir to cut you a bit of pollished edge toughend glass and a couple of chrome locators at about £1.50 each.
they look old hat to us lot as we see/ buy all the time, but they do still look good and in a nice modern surroundings, even better.

I did one a while back, based on exact same thing bt i used a raised glass panel rather than slats. graphics in etch oversized on the rear and cut vinyl departments/floor listings on the rear too. some moder chrome bullit type down lights overhanging and it looked great. charged the earth for it and cost us only about £75 per sign. that was including the lights!

anyway, if i remember anymore ill add to this.

maybe have a look back at some of andrew boyles work for a bit of inspiration in the gallery, from memory he had some very unique looking directory systems.

    Thanks Rob & Martin,

I think I might have to go with glass panels which as you say do still look the bizz if done well.

The point of adding more panels at a later date is very valid, that’s why I think the one I was after looked right for the job.

You know where you have seen something….and can’t find it… 🙁 how frustrating is that.

I didn’t like the colours John.

Good to speak to you earlier on and am waiting on a price from Shopkit for something similar to what I wanted.
