Who do you use for Chevron kits ? We currently buy from William Smith but they are very expensive but do a really good quality kit. Is there any others that are good quality but a little cheaper.

    Hi Martin

We create all our own Chevron Kits in house. But when the spec is 3M conspicuity we contact Wm. Smiths.
As you say, their Kits are very good quality accuracy wise and as they also use high frequency edge sealing flat bed cutters to create them. meaning no issues of contaminated media cells. Something some so called trade suppliers cannot offer as they are edge sealing with liquids etc. May not sound a big deal but can cause you lots of problems further down the line if you have to do a re-fit due to dirty cells etc. Smiths have also been offering this service for years now, meaning a vast library of vehicle kits on file and growing by the day.
Smiths are also authorised 3M suppliers meaning they should be able to compete with any quote based on a like for like basis.
We use a lot of vinyl but admittedly, we don’t buy allot of "conspicuity media", but I recently looked at buying some in and the price of the media was the same price I would buy a complete chevron kit media, cut and edge sealed from Smiths.

Please do not think I am saying smiths are the only one out there to offer quality kits, i am not. But i did do the exercise some time ago of phoning round for prices and so on and ended back at Smiths door in the end.

Before settling on a supplier of this type of service you do need to look at:
Size of Vehicle Template Library they hold.
    Accuracy of the Templates.
Do they offer High frequency edge sealing.
    Speed of Turnaround.
    Quality of Media they Use.
Does the media they use tick the Quality Standards required for such kits.
    And yes, the cost! 😀

You have to be wary that not everyone does the flood coat kits like WS. Often they are just separate pieces taped together so harder to fit.
