• Cherry picker

We’ve got to letter this thing up on Saturday morning. (Yeah, I know, weekend working. But when needs must, and the money is good enough!)

Even with the boom down it will be over six feet above the lorry bed, so the customer is providing us with a little cherry picker to apply the graphics to his big cherry picker. *rofl*

This goes up to 61 metres, but he tells me that he has another one on order which will go up to 101 metres. 😮

We’d better keep on the right side of them. Might be useful people to know. 😀

Good idea Peter, but two problems.

    1. We’ve got to do it at the customer’s premises.

    2. You won’t get me up in one of those bloody things. Anything that high should have a stewardess to serve me drinks. 😀

Anyway, here’s one I prepared earlier. Taken from a helicopter.

    Just good timing mate. 😀

Actually, I’m going to try not to be there as well. Chris is going to do it, although I might take a bimble over, just to hold his coat. 😀

For anybody interested in access equipment, it’s the SED show at Rockingham Raceway next week. All the kit you could possibly want will be on show there.

As a bonus, call round here afterwards and I’ll ply you with coffee and Jaffa Cakes. 😀

Oh yes, just remembered a little snippet…….

I was told that on the 101 metre cherry picker, in addition to a safety harness, the operator has to wear a quick opening parachute!

Apparently the reasoning is that if he has a problem there is nothing else high enough to rescue him, and it is the only way of getting himself down in a hurry. It would seem that helicopters aren’t recommended because of the downdraught.
