Changing media for same job
Evening everyone.
I’m working late tonight to try and get some printing done for a job. While I’m here I’m thinking about media costs and wastage so I have a couple of questions.
I’ve got to wrap the rear doors on a Ford Custom, as I tend to buy my media at 1520mm I find I’m wasting money when I print these as I can’t fit 2 doors side by side.
I did think about buying media in at 1350 but that seems a bit short to me when wrapping a complete side. I tend to hide joins along where the mouldings are so it’s less visible. What do you guys do or do you just suck it up?
Also, I have a trailer to wrap, the sides need cast due to the amount of rivets but the front has none. I could get away with polymeric on the front but I tend to use the same media for all of it. Just wondered if you change or just print it all in one go.
I hate wasting money but I hate wasting time more swapping over media if there’s very little in it.
Also, is it just me or does anyone else have a panic attack when they load their wrap media thinking it’s gonna screw up half way down the line and cost you **** loads in waste.
