I currently have the R1400 with bulk easi flow inks but its not working as hard as what it should be and therefore I struggle with getting colours to print correct. Was warned about this when I purchased but hey ho!!!

I am thinking of selling this set up and going for a Cartridge system – as I understand that there is no ink blockages with this – are any of you guys using this system and what are your thoughts.

Also thinking of getting the OKI lazer printer…or would you think I would be better keeping the R1400 and getting the OKI to print along side it????

    Cheers

Hiya tracey, I have both these systems and hope this helps….

First the Oki, i only bought this system about a year ago and am printing signs, DVLA Approved plates, banners and now sublimation garments. Papers i have bought have been from Magic touch and i am getting on really well with it.

The R1400. Well like you i was warned but i knew best…. i am having same ink probs from time to time but if im honest i do prefer the finish…. especially on mugs and tshirts etc.

Personally i would use both and you will get to know which will perform the best result, I like the Oki and am sure i will find more for it to do but i don’t think it would prove fruitful to sell in used and get peanuts.

    Hope this helps

    Ian 😀

I think you’ll still have the same blockage issues with both set ups if the printers not being used to much, how long do you go between prints?

I use a bulk system with my 1400 and can see 2/3 weeks between prints and it’s normally OK.

My advice would be to keep your printer in a nice cool environment but your papers in a warm room, making sure the printer isn’t to close to heaters is a must.

Thanks Guys for your input……Have ordered OKI today so will be having a play with it over Easter!!

Just a quick question…What Colour Pallett do you use in Corel Draw when designing or importing photos for printing onto the R1400. I have got the Artanium settings set but my blues keep comming out mauve!!

    Thanks again
