Depends what look you want. The usual 3M etc. is like a dry carbon. There was a new one by SOTT that looked more realistic, i.e. gloss coated.

    Thats the one, sott elemento!

Had a customer in today wanting a bonnet, spoiler and roof wrapped in carbon but wasnt a fan of the avery one, which in fairness looks exactly the same as 3M. He wanted the gloss/3D look.
I would rather not use the naff ebay stuff as its never lasted and wouldnt give the best impression of our company.

Im also rather tempted to improvise and print a carbon image instead. If anyone has done this?

3M is really nice to apply and looks good but it does have a texture, so if you are planning to overlay some vinyl then think again as the overlay will probably fail.

Yeah its pretty impossible to get something to last, luckily its a straight forward wrap only!

IMHO i prefer the 3D carbon over the smooth, I just don’t like the smooth and to me it simply looks like a print.
I know real carbon is smooth, i have various products made from real carbon, but i would never dream of using something that looks exactly the same as in my opinion it looks crap! 😆 real carbon is also far from flawless in its pattern.
I just think the 3D carbon on a vehicle gives it that bit more a "different" look and finish.
I don’t like the gloss 3d carbon though, looks plastic!

NEVER buy wrapping film from eBay.
The genuine vinyl you will see is past shelf life stock. resulting in higher fail rate and difficult to work with.
Most is cheap PVC chinese brands.
The rest is counterfeit brands which are simply the cheap chinese brands with 3M, Avery or whatever printed on the lining paper.

Its a material we always get asked for but when people see the actually material, dont want it due to the matt look!
Personally i like it although i wouldnt want it on my car.
However a customer came in today wanting his bonnet done and to be fair doesnt look that bad!
