carbon fibre effect film needed please?
Posted by graficxpress on September 15, 2004 at 4:33 pmAnyone know where I can source a carbon fibre effect or carbon fibre film, that is carbon fibre effect on both sides? Needs to be on the adhesive side mainly but both would be best.
any help greatly appreciated as usual.

HEXIS sell a carbon fibre file, in a good range of sizes.
They also stock a very good range of the more specialist stuff, like holographics etc.

Hi graficxpress,
A company called The Vinyl Corp sale carbon fibre effect vinyl, its £7.50 per meter but its only at a width of 380mm, their phone number is 0115 930 1133 ask for Sue and ask her if its double sided and not just the one side thats got the effect on.
Good Luck,
let us know how you get on. -
Tried the Vinyl Corp, they don’t do a double sided one. Has anyone got a number for Hexis?

Spoke to hexis, apparebtly the only way you could get the effect on the adhesive side would be to print onto it before the adhesive is applied, meaning having to order thousands of meters. Or to print the silver pattern or black pattern onto a clear vinyl and then apply the other colour over the back.
Any other Ideas?

Always one for a cheapo substitute, I’ve been using anthracite (is that how its spelt?) by Oracal. Its definately not a carbon-fibre look a like, more of a metallic dark grey, but I’ve used it a couple of times to achieve an effect instead of the carbon fibre vinyl. Might be worth a look if you think you can substitute it without anyone worrying. 😀
Cheers, Dewi

The only way I can see you achieving double sided is to apply one piece to another, but then then the down side is, you won’t have an adhesive side. my be someone else can tell you what adhesive you could get away with.
