    Hi Gypsy

Most vehicle outline disks are vectors not JPG but if you want jpg why not just take a digi pic of the customers car with a few measuements then set it to 1:1 scale in your sign package and create layout on the photo

Hi John , Vector it is then , just thought they would probably be in jpg to be honest..

As for why …… i want to be able to be able to do mail order , i.e. , via email , and send out kits if you get my drift…..eventually that is , as i’m having trouble getting the right software sorted (thats another topic)…..

And generally being able to create a gallery for a website etc , i.e. Style 1 , Style 2 etc etc , I want to try and make a limited budget range , and pre priced examples , but also not having the site too busy with photo’s….nice simple clean menu driver choosing methods

keeps the creation time down , me hopes !!!!!!

    😉

    Hi Steve,

Take care when using these images as they do not always have the correct panel sizes. Have been caught out a couple of times when the customer says he has a certain van, when I come to fit the lettering it is the wrong size.

Having said that, they do make great visuals to show the customer.

    Cheers

\steve, Terry is quite right, some of the sizes seem to be quite a bit out, when I started I kept a book in which I wrote the true panel sizes for each car and van I did. That way if you had to cut livery for mail order or to fit on site you knew it was going to fit. I have also fitted graphics for boy racers who had purchased them from various on line companys and in a lot of cases the graphics did not really fit properly and had to be adjusted in some way. Vehicle outlines are an essential tool just dont take the sizes for granted. I think the impact ones that Brian sells are about the best from what I have read although I must confess I don’t own theirs, mine came from a company called ingram.

ok guys , many thanks for the advice…..

Maybe once an order comes in , i should mark the outline panels that are used in red or something , then ask the customer the the measurement of these sections….(on vehicles i haven’t done yet ,as you say , i’ll keep a log)

Think that would be a better idea , put the onus on them really i suppose…

Now i just need to sort my software probs out , long day today !!!

    Cheers , steve

not the best in customer service i think if you do get a job in that your not sure on i would put my self out to make sure the measurements were correct ,its not down to the customer to do this him or her self

as for new vans or cars a ten min trip to local dealers is all it takes to get a few measurements

not being funny-mate just thinking out load

yep , do agree to an extent , although this particular service is meant as a budget one , i.e. £50 a set etc….

but do agree , even if I’d had to ask for measurements ,i think I’d check them first !!
