  • Cant print tints using Uniform Cadet & Flexisign RIP

    Hi there,

I’ve just purchased a used Uniform Cadet along with a copy of FlexiSign 7.5v2

Now I’m having real trouble trying to print a 20% tint of Pantone 247.

In the rip settings I have it configured to mach the spot colour the best it can and it converts the pantone 247 to 65% magenta and 10%cyan which is fine.

But the problem I have is that the 20% tint prints exacly the same as the solid.

And if I convert all my images to CMYK in Illustrator it prints too dark as the RIP doest attempt to colour mach for this difficult to reach colour.

    Any ideas?

    Many Thanks

    Simon

Right I’ve sorted the tint problem by saving my illustrator EPS to version 6 and the colours look fine.

But by doing this I’ve created a new problem. When printing a sphere with a gadient it comes out like 2 solid colours instead of a nice smooth gradient.

    I just cant win!! 🙁

    Cracked it!!

Saved the EPS to Version 7 then opened it in flexi production manager.
