  • Cant get into service mode

Good Evening…. looking for some help again. Managed to get and change the carriage bearing on my SP300V, but now i am getting a ‘Service call 0110’ error message, which i reckon is because i need to do the limit initialization. But the problem is that as soon as the printer is powered on it automatically goes straight into cleaning mode, which is not allowing me to get into the service menu. Does anyone have any suggestions of how i can get round this ?

    Thanks

This is the arrow button sequence to get you into engineer mode

Morning Kevin…. yeah the problem is that i dont even get a chance to input that as it just keep going straight into cleaning mode from the kick off. Anyway i messed about more last night and got slightly further. So it seems that after boot up the carriage is struggling to find its home position, it sits there juttering and then the service call message appears. But whilst it is juttering, if i put my hand on the carriage and wiggle it slightly then it suddenly kicks into life. So its now the fact that it is struggling to find its base point.

Power off at the wall, power switch off at the side of the printer. Power on at the wall, turn on main power switch at the side, enter code then hit sub power switch on the control panel, make sure you’re holding down the 3 arrow buttons while powering up, it’s tricky

Yeah once i done the wiggle thing i managed to eventually get into it, so i got past the initial problem that i posted, so the remaining issue is that when i power it up, is that the carriage just sits jiggling not finding the base/ home point and then coming up with the service error 0110

Service call 110 is related to the linear encoder strip.

Check all connections and that the encoder strip is sitting properly in it’s guide channel. You can try cleaning the strip with a dry paint brush to remove any dried ink that may be settled as dust on the strip. If that fails try removing the encoder strip and refitting it upside down. If that fails try changing the encoder strip altogether (they are inexpensive and readily available from digiprint supplies). And if it’s not the encoder strip it’s the scan motor itself
