a customer has supplied me today with artwork he has recieved from his GRAFPHIC DESIGNER (latin name …premious donnious) It is all been saved for me as pdf fies. The type of shading that is involved there is no way that the plotter can do it and lettering it with brushes is out of the question .I just want a bit of reassurance here that i have told the customer that the only way i could see it being done the way it looks is for it to be printed on white or clear …just hope that i am rite. its just the name of the company address and phone number dark blue running into a light blue . Also can you directly print from a PDF file …..im a brushes and plotter guy not really up to didgy technology

    Regards Brian

yes, you can print from PDF as that is normal.

Just take note of the sizes in the PDF (normally at the bottom of the screen) and then if you can see the Zoom tools (magnifier glass), zoom into the areas and just look at it, if the jagged look appears and it is harsh then you know you have a bad PDF, customer would then be able to supply better.

you would only want to print onto clear if it is going onto a white background. The inks are transparent and will change colour if applied to a coloured background.
Best to print on white where possible.
