can vinyl could be used to create or simulate stained glass?
Posted by Paul Meadows meadows on September 19, 2005 at 5:54 pmMight sound like a stupid question to all you talented signies out there but, creative juices have been flowing lately and I was wondering if vinyl could be used to create or simulate stained glass?

I haven’t done it Paul but I imagine if you used translucent vinyl you could achive the effect, if you have a go please tell us the results. Although I am sure some one on here will have treid it.

yes, this can be done. You can get a marbled effect vinyl in loads of colours and effects. Im sure when Robert is online he can get you the info you require, maybe a few photos (i know he has some lying around). He also entered into the MACTAC awards a few years ago with Stained glass design for a large Solicitors.

Regular translucent is a bit opaque for my liking but I have used a transparent tint-like vinyl from APA, which is pretty good for stained glass effects.

APA do Translucent and Transparent vinyl the later would be better
