  • Can this be done in Google mail?

Posted by Karl Williams on January 29, 2012 at 5:35 pm

I’m looking at sending email ads showing my web address to both existing
customers and prospective customers. Is it possible to send this to all the addresses in my contacts list without it showing loads of addresses to the recipient? If it is how can this be done?

    Thanks,
    Karl.

    Found this online.

    Add Bcc Recipients in Gmail

To add Bcc recipients to messages in Gmail:

Select Compose from the left Gmail navigation bar.
Type the primary recipient in the To: line.
To hide the addresses of all recipients, you can also leave the To: field blank or enter your own Gmail address.
    Click Add Bcc.
Enter all the recipients’ email addresses in the Bcc: field.
Click Bcc: to select contacts from your address book.
Continue editing your message and eventually click Send.

when i read this i thought gmail was maybe a but different from google business but pretty much the same karl.

just send the email to yourself, click Blind Carbon Copy = BCC which is right below it and select/check all relevant recipient’s you want and hit send.

if you want to send same but others see the list just click CC = Carbon Copy

    Long story…
But around 9.5 years ago i caught out another signmaker sending UKSB members "viruses" when they joined the boards. the emails looked like they were being sent by "Me" and one of the UKSB Mod’s, so were getting opened.
thing is, when he sent a bulk email out he clicked CC- Carbon Copy instead of BCC – blind carbon copy… which exposed the proof i needed in what he was doing. obviously i was quick to let him know this.
anyway… the old Blind Carbon Copy scenario was the first reason why the members list was taken out of public veiw, followed about a year or two later with profile viewing for other underhand actions.

so there you go… little bit of history connected to uksb in your question there. :lol1: :lol1:
