  • Can’t fill with the fill tool :(

…. not sure if its a bug since the last windows upgrade, but I can’t draw a square and use the fill tool ‘paint can’ to colour it. I can click the palette and it will change, and I can use the eye dropper tool to pick a colour on the page then use its paint bucket tool to change it, but everytime I try and do a simple fill, it comes up with the error ‘ding’ when I press the mouse button. It holds everything up. I have to esc to get control back.

I’m going nuts. Anything I’m missing?

Let me know….please….. I’m ready to hurl the monitor out the window. 👿 😕 🙁

    Hi Shane

    Are you talking Corel?

If so I think the F8 as the program loads should sort this.

    Tim.

    Thanks friends.

Yes, I need a holiday…. but if the wife asks….. we’ll be engrossed in business discussion…. ok…… remember…. its going to be a hard slog if the wife asks ……. my life depends on it 🙂

    Tim, yes mate Corel X3.

I’ve turned the computer off in disgust, and I’m going to bed…..

Before I closed down, I did a restore back to the 13th when it was working properly. Hopefully in the morning it will be ok…. I’ve got way behind in my work trying to sort it out…. should have restored it this morning I guess, but I wasn’t thinking straight…. all I could think of is how I could keep working after I threw the thing out the window. Couldn’t come up with an answer that was cheap, so I struggled on…. (I know, I’m a hero :))

Hi Shane, if I’m reading this correctly you can actually fill the shape but not in the conventional way, my first thoughts were a locked layer but you wouldn’t be able to fill it at all. I assume it is a closed shape and its not got a duplicate over it.

    Hi guys,

I ran a spyware spybot program, and it found many entries.

not sure if its the restore or the removal of the spyware, but its working this morning.

I’ll let you know how it goes.

    Cheers
shane, (thanks for your help too)
