I have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about here (nothing new there then :D) but what I’m after is a solution to a problem I’ve been asked to solve.

A business local to me would like to block out the majority of the heat and sunlight coming in through his front windows. In the middle of summer, it can be unbearable in the shops along the stretch of road I work on, so I know where this guy is coming from. The thing is, at the same time, he wants a sort of one way vision effect, ie he wants to be able to see out, but block ppl seeing in.

Is this a possibility with vinyl or does he need to replace the glass in his windows with that UV reactive stuff? If it is possible to use a vinyl, he has a budget of £100 – £150, is it possible to do it for this kind of money?

    Cheers, Dewi

Don’t know the answer myself, but try:

    Stockfilms – 020 8441 0449.

They are a trade supplier, and do privacy films and solar control films.

He’s gonna need a solar film, but £150 sounds optimistic !!

    Dewi,
What’s wrong with using mirrored vinyl, it’s not 100% 1 way vision but it certainly reflects the sun. i have used it many times for this purpose.
    long john.
