  • can i print out of print & cut manager using two printer

Posted by Stephanie Peterson on May 27, 2008 at 4:39 pm

I just have a quick question for you all. We just got in a second printer and when I tried to start printing a job through print and cut manager I noticed I could only have one going at a time. So my question is, is there a way that I can print out of the print and cut manager using both printers with different projects or are we just stuck using only one at a time? Any help or information you could provide at this point would be fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Stephanie

edit: Oh yeah I guess I should mention that we have signlab 7.1

Stephanie I think you have to have a dongle for each machine, I can cut etc. on my machine and Peter can print and or cut at the same time, but each computer has it’s own dongle 🙄

Just got through to the summa tech support and found out that you can in fact run both printers at once. You just need to change some basic settings. I will try to remember what he did and then post the directions just in case some one else needs them.

    Stephanie,
You only need 1 dongle to run your software. You should be able to run multiple printers or plotters from signlab. When you send the job over to the printer click on the printer model and port then send your job over.

    Good luck,
    Karl.

Yeah I have that all set up now Karl its just that none of the ports are working for the new printer. I think there was a total of 21 different ones and none worked. My printer is all set up and all the wires are connected so I am super confused right now.

I would have thought the engineers would have set this up for you?
Ask a silly question but have you installed the drivers correctly? Not trying to insult your intelligence but it’s an easy thing to do. 😕

Engineers??? We didn’t get an engineer, I set it all up.

I believe I set the drivers up correctly. I downloaded them from a cd we received as well as we downloaded new ones from the internet when we were setting up the printer in the print and cut manager. But maybe I did it wrong I don’t know it was the first time setting up a printer.
