  • Can I have some help with this design please?

    Hi all!

    Wet and windy again!

I have a customer who has a mobile catering trailer. It is black and has a yellow self adhesive vinyl wave effect stripe running along the lower region all the way round (see illustration).

He would like it ‘modernised’. Does anyone feel like a play to see what you can come up with? The yellow stripe (which is somewhat faded) needs to remain as it is taking the paint off when a removal is attempted. It really needs to be partially covered with black or red vinyl or both to freshen it up a bit.

Is that enough info? Maybe something like you see on buses where the colour bleeds somehow from one to another with ever increasing/decreasing dots or thin wavy lines or…..

It all needs to be cut vinyl by the way and yellow and red on black (sorry – ‘corporate’ colours).

And the design/graphic/detail can come up the trailer toward the roof (or down toward the base) as much as the designer thinks neccessary.

I am going to have a go myself but didn’t want to hinder anyone’s free reign by suggesting something first. (honest)

    Thanks in advance…

I would carefully tape it off, then use a sea sponge to speckle on some red paint.
    Best I can think of!
    Inexpensive, too.

Hm, never thought that paint could be an option. Hmm.

Also, something like the bt openreach vans might look ok. Hmm.

I decided to have a go down the ‘pixelated’ route…..(if you look VERY closely the wavy stripe is still there, but has been masked by black squares etc)

    Any opinions?

    Thanks Harry!

Customer has black, red and yellow as ‘corporate’ colours. Tch!

    Jams,

No photo sorry, the bl00dy thing was tucked in beside another trailer and a lorry so I couldn’t get one. Tch!

How about just covering the yellow with the same and adding some take away vectors hovering above in red?

Would the customer not stretch his budget to some digital print.

As it would be so much quicker to apply. But also you can have a play around with the design.
