    Hi All

is there any way I could move some ink from one black cart into the other whilst printing?

I know when you run out of ink if you take the cart out and put it back in it will let you transfer ink via the control panel, but I am wanting to do this without it actually running out and giving me that option.

basically i have a black cart thats nearly empty and I’m half way through a 4.5 metre print and I want to go home! but I daren’t leave it.

could I take the cart out now and transfer some over or will I ruin the print?

I normally have spare carts in stock and just put one in and go home but printmax are late with there deliveries again – promised me today but they never came……..

    thanks

    stuart

I have not come across a way off transfering the ink Stuart,
I think you may be confusing it with the add ink coomand,
if the control panel says near end, pause the print, take out the cart and weigh it, you can then add 10,20, or 30 ccs ( not transfer) but the printer will keep going till the cart is emty, then stop printing til you put a new one in, On near end , sometimes you can get another 5-10 m of print,

Sorry probably to late to help you this time.. 🙁

my printer is a little different, it doesn’t have two carts the same colour… but i never heard of the menu item too.

to be quite honest i would leave the machine to get on with it, upseting the carts can make the machine re-read a consider a cart empty and do more waste pumping.. if it fails then sadly thats life. I am also printing right now on very low carts.
