We are newbies to the sign scene so these might be simple questions.

We are running a Graphtec CE3000 on Windows XP and Illustrator 10 and SignLab 5.

    1. We cant seem to import AI or EPS files into signlab they appear as a box with a cross going through the middle. We have tried back saving in Illustrator 10 but still the same effect.

    2. Does Signlab 5 work on XP?

    3. Also the Graphtec comes with adobe Illustrator cut master software but when installed we have no option in the file menu to cut/plot.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

When saving in illustrator save in an older version, when I save I save in version 4 & have no problems at all. When you save you will see a “compatibility” option, change it in there to 4.

Signlab 5 works fine on Windows XP, I use it day in day out.

Not sure about your other problem, but if you have Signlab 5 it’s unlikely you will need to use the cut master software.

Just a note on signlab 5 and XP. I have 1Gb of ram on an XP pro machine and if XP manages the memory – undo doesn’t work. Apparently this is a known issue and can be resolved by reducing virtual memory page size. I turned mine off and everything fine exept I can only run one instance of Signlab, hence upgrade to V7. I don’t know if this because of XP pro or 1Gb ram, I would add I’m not too surprised as V5 did come out some while before XP. Ray if you read this perhaps you can expand.
    Regards to all
