    Hi All,

Had a trade supplier produce some clear vinyl graphic prints applied to frosted acrylic for us.
Just had a call to say the print has milky white patches appearing on it!!
These are due for delivery today as they are being shipped to an exhibition.
After digging a bit i have found out that they have applied the 2yr clear vinyl wet yesterday.
Will this milkyness disappear?? and if so roughly how long before it does?
Any info would be a great help.

It can take anything from 24hrs to about a week to disappear depending on just how much fluid was left, the temperature, grade of vinyl, adhesive type.

Obviously, if there are bubbles of fluid left…it’ll take a very, very long time to go away.

yes paul. the milkiness is because the adhesive is water based.

it will disappear in a few days, once it s 100% dry

some cheaper vinyls have a water based glue and if applied to a frost type finish will do just that. as the wet cant be squeeged out. as dave said may take a few days.

    sorry

    thanks chaps
I thought this was the case… some vinyls have a solvent based adhesive and some have a water base one.
I can only hope this disappears completely before the show opens and our client sees it which is in about 5 days…..
    Paul.

When I read the title my initial reaction was to post a witty reply saying "are you breast feeding" 😕

If you can put them somewhere warm or somewhere where the sun will shine on them then it will disappear more quickly.

It could also be due to the fluid they used.
Should be OK with the correct stuff but Fairy Liquid type additive could leave "soapy" deposits.
