    any idea’s ?

the laptop has been behaving for a while, so it has a stay of execution for a bit, i’m going to go and buy a desktop pc on wed’s evening that’s gonna live in the workshop,

so i need to know if corel 12, and winplot will all work on vista, or whether or not i tell em to go hunt out an xp computer.

    cheers.

ps, think i found the laptop fault..
despite all the testing etc, it was still crashing. due to the keyboard coming in and out so often, the lugs that hold in in place are damaged, i noticed that when the left hand end of the keyboard became loose, it was prone to ‘freezing’. further tinkering found that if i tucked the cooling fan wires under the motherboards protective place, which is visible with the keyboard removed, that it never ‘freezes’, there fore, Watson, i have deduced that the problem must be something to do with the fan wires. once i have the desktop up n running, and wireless that will reach the workshop, i’m dropping this into one of my customers for an upgrade !

The Sp2 for X3 is definitely Vista compatible and approved.

to be honest, i prefer xp to the vista which the two oldest have on their laptops, but try to find an xp pc in the shops!!

    Alan, you’re probably right!!

ps. this is a world first… i’m transmitting live from the workshop now!!! just moved the wireless box to the top of the house, the kids can’t use the pc in one bedroom now, but hey, it’s a small price to pay for some company in the workshop!!

I said leave the decision because I knew X4 was coming out later today (announced 2.00pm today) I can confirm from basic tests that my version of Winplot V6.7 build 6760 works with X4.
I would expect you to notice a significant difference over V12.
