  • Can anyone tell me how to turn off automatic update?

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the automatic update screen that comes up. I got rid of it yonks ago, but I’ve reinstalled Corel recently and I have not got a clue what I did.

    … I must be getting old ๐Ÿ™

Any help would be appreciated. I know it is a pretty simple thing to do, but alas, I’m obviously not ‘simple’ enough… ๐Ÿ˜•

    Hi Shane!
I still get that with my ver.11. Not sure if it’s the same with 12 but I think there was a little drop down menu on it that asks to remind you in 30 days, 60 days, etc etc. I always forget to set it to "never" when it pops up.

    Hi Shane

From what I can tell on my pc draw 12 and from google you can’t fire up the update thing from it’s exe file so you may have to wait until it next happens then dissable it.

    hi guys,

it happens everytime I open corel. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ .. everytime!!! ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ‘ฟ Driving me nuts. ๐Ÿ˜• … it hooks onto the internet and tells me the latest corel products that are ready to update. Its never Corel 12 though, always the embroidery program, which I don’t have..

actually thats one of the things I got to sort…

Update Manager… complete waste of time, I did find the company who makes it and had an uninstaller on it… but i recall it failing.. i shall look into it in a mo

Anyone who has the free Microsoft Windows Defender installed can see it in Control Panel/Software Explorers, its the line "InstallSheild Update Service"
    The files live in
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService

This is run and going to rename it from issch.exe to something else, should get ignored then.

Update: I have issch.exe is the startup bit.. so thats now renamed to badboyissch.exe and its gone away.

    This is what Corel say…

    Removing InstallShield Update Manager

If you wish to remove the InstallShield Update Manager from your workstation, you will need to download and install the Update Manager uninstaller from the following location: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q111006 .

This will remove the Update Manager service from your computer, updates to Corel products can be found at the following location on the Corel Website:
    http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite? … tDownloads.

    Disabling InstalShield Update Manager

To disable the InstallShield Update Manager follow the steps below:

Within Explorerยฎ, browse to the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\
Double click on the file "ISUSPM" ( or ISUSPM.EXE).
Click on the "Update Settings" tab.
Click on the option "The install shield update manager will not automatically check for updates".

But it will not work ๐Ÿ˜•

thing is… it is actually the installer software, which is used for a few things on the computer.. pain in the butt it is.

The new dells came with it installed, the damn update manager displays too often.
