can anyone tell me how to fix foamex to dibond please?
Posted by Jeremy Howes on October 9, 2008 at 8:16 amHello all,
To cut a long story short, I have to fix 5mm Simona Foam board (2370×385) to existing 3mm Dibond in situ, how would you suggest I do this?, there is room for screws.Best regards

I did this sort of size once using Evostick Timebond contact adhesive.
It has never lifted or buckled and no visible fixings. -
Thank you both for your replies.
I was hoping that VHB tape might be suggested, which manufacturer would you recommend and how would this be best arranged on the back of panels this size? eg. cut to what length and gaps betweenI hope this makes sense.
Best regards

Used this method on various occasions.
Evo-stik ‘serious stuff’ & foam d/sided tape.
Nice long strips of tape top, middle & bottom. And loads of blobs of the adhesive.
Tape gives instant grab & holds it in place for years…adhesive ensures it’ll never move…ever.

I buy a none branded tape from Orbital products in Leeds 0113 279 4777
The type I use is 6200 Ultrabond 1mm clear 25mm wide.
The amount you use depends on where it is, how easy you want it to be removed etc. In my experience you don`t need to go over the top though.

No problem. Its nice to be able to help for a change instead of always asking for it 😀
