This may seem a dumb question, but it has been a long time since I used Corel Draw (4 I think!). You used to have to convert to curves then export it off to a piece of cutting software! Is that still the case or does it now have the ability to cut direct from Corel? I am considering getting the latest edition of Corel so would be interseted in any help that can be sent my way. Also is there any system requirements that I ought to consder ie amount of Ram memory etc to run this programme? Many thanks in advance.

You can cut direct from Coreldraw using the print command. I have done it but the results were poor – jaggy cutting for example. I was using a Graphtec CE3000 but I don’t know what was at fault. Graphtec told me it was a Coreldraw issue.

If you have a Summa and don’t have the latest WinPlot you can download it from the Summa Web site. There is an option there for Corel Draw V12 – run it and it will put a button within Draw which will transfer you object directly into Winplot for cutting, this however does not work in X3. Exporting as eps from X3 and opening in Winplot is fine. CoCut will drive virtually all the plotters and has many other features too.
