  • can anyone tell me how to cut directly from corel please?

I have corel 9 and I find it easier to use than signpal. But when I want to cut what I have done I have to copy it to signpal and cut from there. Is there anyway I can do this from corel. Hope I have explained properly.

Also does anyone else use signpal. If not I might as well uninstall it.

    Thanks

    Hope your all well

I’m not sure if it can be done with all plotters, but I installed my plotter as a printer which allowed me to output to it using the print command in coreldraw. A bit of mucking about was needed with the page size, but it worked.

Thanks Andy for the quick response. I just find that when I transfer any design to signpal I have trouble. sometimes it only copys part. And if I save something in import it. It says does not recognised format.

If I do not reply back it is because this cordless keyboard is playing up even though I just put new batterys in.

I use both my camm1 and puma 2 plotters direct from corel. Just installed as new printer using supplied drivers.

Only thing I have to do is make sure that all outlines are 0.001mm otherwise it doesnt cut. Also had to remove the colour from the objects or they tried to cut the fills too!! That might be something specific that I was doing wrong though 😮 lol

Should be no problem if you get hold of the Puma driver.

    • Install driver
Set cut lines to 0.001mm otherwise it will not cut
Select printer in Corel and print.
Use the preview button to see and shift the layout on the media
      Press print to cut

All mentioned before, Im running a Jag III and use the serial cable to connect. Found it easier to set up, and more reliable than USB.

John you would have had a "Windows Print Drivers" CD with the rest of the accessories in the box the machine came in.

If you cannot find it then you can download the print driver direct from this link.

http://www.gccworld.com/customer_download.html You will need to register on the site before you can download, or if you want I will send you the driver via email if you can tell me what Windows system you are running, i.e. XP, Vista, 98.

    Regards
    Nigel
