  • can anyone tell me how do i curve a straight line please?

Posted by Martin.G on November 4, 2008 at 12:41 am

I have done a straight piece of barbed wire in corel 8, and now the customer wants it to fit on his spare wheel cover, but i cant for the life of me, work out how to do it.

i basically need to make this straight line pic, into a full circle, or even half, and i can copy paste and weld

i know with text, you can do it, but it doesnt allow me to do it the same way now.

any help would be great, thanks

There is a script at http://www.oberonplace.com that can do the similar thing as Jason’s link but I’m not sure if it is compatible with Draw V8 – I suspect not but maybe worth having a look.

Only macros from the likes of Oberon. It’s worth looking at the site because there are some scripts for older versions V10 onwards and many have been changed to run with X3 and X4.
Something similar to objects along a path is the spraylist found under effects – artistic media. An object can be saved to the spraylist and then either painted on with the cursor or made to go along a predefined shape. Rotation is available too. I suspect in many cases this will do the job.

Thanks Alan, That script works a treat, cant believe that such a functional tool is missing from Corel. And for the others sorry for butting into an Illustrator thread…….

Who knows Graeme it maybe in future version I don’t know in the mean time for those who don’t want to use the script I would explore the artistic media tool and the spray list, there maybe some more goodies which are readily usable there.

If you’re using an Adobe product, the exchange is the best place to go for add ons. Most are free. Tons of brushes, actions etc… You’ll have to sign up for a free account if you don’t already have one.
